Dr. Martin Levitz (American, b. 1924) assembled one of the most comprehensive and distinguished private collections of Osaka (Kamigata) prints ever formed. His discerning eye, scholarly dedication, and decades of collecting resulted in a trove that included numerous rarities and masterworks, many of which were little known or previously unpublished. Following his death, the collection was dispersed through private sales and public auctions, allowing many of its masterpieces to find new homes in important public and private collections around the world.
