A.S.G. Edwards, writing in The Book Collector (Autumn 2021, pp. 554–556), reviewed Erotica: The Prosper de la Pastanade Collection (Paris: Couillopolis, 2020), a lavishly produced three-volume private collection catalogue attributed to Casimir Cavalcadour [pseud.]. Edwards praises the high production values, detailed bibliographical descriptions, and extensive illustrations, while noting the predominance of post-1900 French material and the collection’s strong emphasis on visual erotica over literary significance. Although the catalogue documents 852 items (1643–2014), its scope occasionally includes works and curiosities beyond strict erotica. The fictitious names of compiler, collector, and publisher are acknowledged, with the real collector located in Europe.
