Winter landscape with two women and a girl aboard a covered boat gliding along a river. One woman stands protectively behind the girl, who gestures outward; the other woman sits inside the cabin. Snow-covered reeds dominate the left foreground, while sea birds fly or swim in the icy waters. On the far bank, snow-laden trees and hills recede into mist, and a boatman in a straw hat rows a skiff in the distance.
