Cotinaud, Paul (French, fl. c. 1920s–1940s)
Paul Cotinaud was a French luxury publisher and bookseller active in Paris during the interwar period. Operating from the Rue des Beaux-Arts, he specialized in high-end, limited-edition bibliophilic publications and curiosa. Publishing under his own name (Librairie Paul Cotinaud), he also directed the refined art imprints Éditions de la Belle Étoile and Le Rameau d’Or. Cotinaud commissioned prominent contemporary artists — including André Collot, Sylvain Sauvage, Jacques Touchet, and Feodor Rojankovsky (“Rojan”) — to illustrate his editions. The production of his books involved collaborations with distinguished typographic ateliers such as the Union Typographique cooperative and specialized colour reproduction studios, including Duval-Beaufumé.
