Karl Pressler [Verlag Karl Pressler] (Munich, publisher, fl. c. 1970–2004)

Karl H. Pressler (1926–2009) was a distinguished German scholar, antiquarian book dealer, editor, and publisher based in Munich. Through his boutique specialized imprint, Verlag Karl Pressler, he operated at the centre of the international rare book trade during the late 20th century. The company focused strictly on high-level bibliographical reference tools, academic monographs, and literature designed for bibliophiles, librarians, and rare book dealers. It achieved permanent global recognition in 1983 by publishing the definitive second edition of Printing and the Mind of Man (PMM). Beyond standalone books, Pressler used his infrastructure to edit Aus dem Antiquariat, the premier journal for the German antiquarian book market. The firm closed around 2004, and its corporate files are now preserved within the Monacensia literary archive in Munich.
