Larson, Gun (Swedish, fl. c. 1971–1980s)
A Swedish calligrapher and graphic artist specializing in book-jacket typography and corporate visual identity. Larson is primarily recognized for her foundational contribution to the visual standardization of the Library of America publishing program. Collaborating with graphic designer Robert Scudellari in the 1970s and early 1980s, she executed the custom, hand-rendered Spencerian calligraphy selected for the series' initial 1982 imprint launch. Her typographic schema was subsequently adopted as the permanent, institutional graphic template utilized across the publisher's expanding catalogue.
