Leduc, Henri Édouard (French, 1875–1955)
Henri Édouard Leduc was a French master typographer, printing cooperative pioneer, and socialist politician. A dedicated trade unionist and advocate for worker-directed enterprise, Leduc was a co-founder and the long-term administrator/director of L'Union Typographique, an influential worker-owned printing cooperative (imprimerie coopérative ouvrière) established in 1906 in Villeneuve-Saint-Georges. Under his guidance, the press developed an elite reputation in the interwar period for high-quality, bibliophilic book production and layout, such as the 1937 Chansons galantes suite. Beyond his trade work, he was a key figure in local municipal governance, serving as the Mayor of Villeneuve-Saint-Georges from 1919 to 1935.
