Yamato no Kami Kanesada [大和守兼定] (Japanese, swordsmith, 17th century)

Swordsmiths bearing the name Kanesada and the honorary title Yamato no Kami were active primarily in Mino Province and later in Edo during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. The most renowned member of this lineage is generally considered to be the second-generation Kanesada of Mino, whose blades were celebrated for their exceptional sharpness and durability. Many of his swords received official recognition as Ryōwazamono, a ranking reserved for blades of superior cutting performance.
