Description: Double slipcase, light-green (“amande”) cloth with gilt lettering to spine, 252 × 170 mm. — Publisher’s cream wrappers, 247 × 165 mm, printed in red and green, enclosing 20 unbound gatherings in 4to; pages uncut. — Pp. [8] (2 blanks, half-title, title-page), [1–3] 4–148 [4] (incl. colophon/limitation statement). — Illustrated with numerous b/w headpieces and 12 original engravings in colour by Gaston Barret, printed à la poupée and finished with pochoir (stencil) hand-colouring on vélin.
Limitation: 471 copies in all: 1 on Japon Impérial with five original watercolours and one suite of engravings (no. 1); 5 on vélin pur chiffon (Papeteries Johannot) with one original watercolour and one suite (nos 2–6); 15 on the same paper with one original drawing and one suite (nos 7–21); 50 on vélin with one suite (nos 22–71); and 400 on vélin (nos 72–471). — This copy numbered 346 (on vélin).
