Description:
Oval composition of a bedroom interior: a standing, veiled woman in a light gown at right; at left, a man in a top hat reclines on the bed, turned toward her. A bedhead, bedside table with a lamp and flowers, and soft draperies frame the scene. Painterly washes and swift contour lines convey the intimate, theatrical tenor typical of Vertès’s interwar scènes galantes.
