Interior scene with a reclining female figure. A woman lies on a green tatami floor, partially disrobed and covered with a brown blanket decorated with white chrysanthemums. Her legs and lower body are exposed, and her kimono is loosely open, revealing a red undergarment beneath an outer robe of green patterned with yellow arrowheads. She appears asleep or daydreaming, with a visualized memory or fantasy emerging from her mouth as a white dream cloud. Within the cloud, a couple—the woman wearing the same green arrowhead robe—is shown engaged in sexual intercourse, suggesting the scene may depict a recollection or imagined version of herself.
To the left, a single chrysanthemum stands in a vase near a partially opened shōji screen. The background wall is decorated with blossoming paulownias (桐). A folding fan rests near the woman’s pillow, inscribed in cursive calligraphy along with two kanji characters: 中画 (Chūga) or possibly 中車 (Chūsha).
