Description:
View of the Piazzetta in Venice with the column of St Mark (surmounted by the winged lion) in the centre and the column of St Theodore to the right. Beyond stands the Biblioteca di San Marco; in the distance, framed between the two columns, are the domes of Santa Maria della Salute. Numerous figures are scattered across the square in the foreground, enlivening the architectural view.
