The portrait is enclosed within an oval frame decorated at the top with a mural crown and a sprig from an orange tree. At upper right is a heraldic shield displaying the arms of the House of Orange-Nassau. Below the portrait is a battle scene framed by military objects, including flags, drums, cannons, and other weapons.
