Description:
Expansive landscape with a military convoy moving left. Foreground left, a cannon is drawn by a horse (its head cropped by the plate edge), attended by two figures. In the middle ground are two dogs and four figures on foot, including a pikeman with a shoulder pike. In the second plane, eight pairs of horses haul another cannon; numerous troops stream along the road toward distant hills beneath a band of parallel sky-hatching.
