Color woodblock print for a rigid fan (uchiwa-e), 212 × 280 mm.
Dense all-over morning glory — asagao (朝顔; Ipomoea nil) — blossoms and vine pattern on dark slate-green background.
Woman in three-quarter view, head turned left. Hair dressed in shimada-mage (島田髷), of the refined bushi-fujin type (粋な武家婦人の島田), with smooth sides and ears exposed, bound with red cloth at the crown. Silver kanzashi (簪) with morning glory butterfly finials, another hairpin in gold and red arabesque. Elongated oval face, teeth not blackened. Dressed in a layered kimono, the brown outer robe with white sparrows, blue cross-hatched lattice (kōshi) and well-crib (igeta, 井桁) pattern, inner collar of red ground with white flowers and dots. Red obi with white decoration. She holds blue and red morning glory blossoms in both hands.
Inscriptions: artist's signature Kōchōrō Kunisada ga (香朝樓國貞画) in a red double-gourd cartouche in the middle-left; rectangular cartouche with ornamented finial with the series title in the upper-left Adesugata bijin asagao (艷姿美人朝顏, "Morning Glory and Wonderful Women"); publisher's mark 十 (jū) for Kojimaya Jūbei (小島屋重兵衛) and censor seal kiwame (極) in the lower-right. No date seal. Binding holes along the right margin.
